As yet, no-one knows when Market Deeping CC was formed – the earliest certain date is 1913, when a match was reported in the Stamford Mercury.
However, there is no doubt that it started to evolve into a successful club when it moved to its present ground in 1973. Early successes in local 20-over competitions led to league status and, in due course, championships in the South Lincs and Rutland Leagues.
This success was due mainly to the attention given to the recruitment and coaching of local youngsters and the club has a special Development Committee to ensure the continuation and improvement of that policy.
The club were Champions of the South Lincs and Border League in 1997, 1998 and 1999 and have also been Lincolnshire County Club Champions four times.
